September 3 - 6, 2010 - Labor Day Beach Music Extravaganza - Sponsored by Bald Head Island Limited and catered by the River Pilot Cafe. Enjoy a weekend on Bald Head Island, NC enjoying beach music and great food. Featuring The Band of Oz, The Catalinas and The Castaways. September 4, 2010 - Children's Crab Derby - 9:00 AM Southport's Historic Waterfront, Free Admission. 14 years old and under only. Free t-shirt while they last. September 4, 2010 - Labor Day Art & Craft Fair - 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM at Middleton Park Extension Soccer Field 46th SE Street & Dolphin Drive, Oak Island. Annual Labor Day weekend festival is a celebration of local and regional artists and craftspeople who display and sell their handmade goods within sight of the ocean. Free Admission. September 11, 2010 - Annual Art & Antique Walk - 10:00 AM, Front Street, Downtown Wilmington, NC. The Art & Antique Walk will showcase various paintings, photographs, jewelry, sculptures, and antiques from New Hanover, Pender, and Brunswick counties. With lots of area vendors, this event will offer the best art and antiques from the region in one location. The entire event will be held on Front Street and will be closed to vehicular traffic for the duration of the Walk. Downtown City parking decks will be free for the entire day. September 18 - 19, 2010 - Southern Coastal Bluegrass Festival - Presented by the Thalian Association Community Theatre along with the Children's Theatre. They are bringing the flavor of the mountains to the beach. The day will be full of toe-tapping and six-string instruments. Tickets can be purchased at the festival or the Community Arts Center. September 24 - 25, 2010 - North Carolina Shell Show - Members of the North Carolina Shell Club and shell enthusiasts from up and down the east coast will present exhibits for viewing and judging in more than 20 categories. Nationally recognized awards, including the Conchologists of America Trophy, will be presented. One Museum gallery will display Shell Show exhibits; another will be filled with shell vendors.
