May 30 - August 29, 2010 - Pleasure Island's Free Movies at the Lake - Free family movies at the Carolina Beach Lake Park every Sunday! 9PM, at Atlanta Avenue, Carolina Beach, NC. The movies are held at the Carolina Beach Lake Park in Beautiful Carolina Beach, NC. The movies start after sunset (approx 9pm). For a full schedule call (910)458-8434.

Friday nights - Mayfaire Music on the Town - 6:00PM - 9:000 PM. Join us every Friday night on the lawn in front of the Mayfaire Cinemas for the best free local music. May 30 - August 29, 2010 - Pleasure Island's Free Fireworks at the Beach - Enjoy free fireworks by the sea on the beach near the boardwalk every Thursday night from May 30th through August 29th. The fireworks are free and open to all, weather permitting. Schedule is subject to change without notice. The fireworks will begin after the sun had gone down (approx 9pm). Be sure to arrive early to grab your spot on the beach. For more information call (910)458-8434.

August 7 - 8, 2010 - Sneads Ferry Shrimp Festival - Festival begins with a parade followed by two days of fun, fireworks and street dance on Saturday night, top-notch entertainment, browsing the booths for local crafts and artwork and all the shrimp you can eat with over 16 food vendors. August 15, 2010 - Annual East Coast Wahine Championships - Surf competitions in shortboard, longboard, pro longboard, advanced shortboard, bodyboard, and novice divisions at the Crystal Pier, South Lumina Ave., Wrightsville Beach, NC. Also, a surf clinic will be held. Entries are limited. For more information call (910)686-1554.
