May 30 - August 29, 2010 - Pleasure Island's Free Movies at the Lake - Free family movies at the Carolina Beach Lake Park every Sunday! 9PM, at Atlanta Avenue, Carolina Beach, NC. The movies are held at the Carolina Beach Lake Park in Beautiful Carolina Beach, NC. The movies start after sunset (approx 9pm). For a full schedule call (910)458-8434.

May 30 - August 29, 2010 - Pleasure Island's Free Fireworks at the Beach - Enjoy free fireworks by the sea on the beach near the boardwalk every Thursday night from May 30th through August 29th. The fireworks are free and open to all, weather permitting. Schedule is subject to change without notice. The fireworks will begin after the sun had gone down (approx 9pm). Be sure to arrive early to grab your spot on the beach. For more information call (910)458-8434.

June 3 - 5, 2010 - Bald Head Island Annual Fishing Rodeo - Fishing Tournament at the Bald Head Island Marina. For more information and fees call (910)457-3701.

June 5, 2010 - Pleasure Island Beach Music Festival - Saturday, 10:30 AM, Ocean Front Beach Stage Harper Ave. and Cape Fear Blvd., Carolina Beach, NC. Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce invites you to grab your shagging shoes and come on down for the Beach Music Festival held on the Ocean Front Beach Stage near the Boardwalk. Come dance the day away to all the great beach music tunes you remember from summers past. Don’t feel like dancing? Then settle down in your beach chair to enjoy watching the dancers and hearing the bands. Advance tickets are $15, $20 at the gate. June 5, 2010 - Surf-Sun-Sand Co-ed Volleyball Tournament - Wrightsville Beach Parks and Recreation, Bob Sawyer Dr., Wrightsville Beach, NC is hosting the Annual Surf-Sun-Sand Volleyball & Bocce Ball tournament. This six or four-person co-ed volleyball tournament has divisions for skill levels including Novice and Intermediate. All players will receive a t-shirt, and prizes will be awarded to the players from the winning team in each division. Pre-registration is required. Registration is now open to all teams. June 25 - 27, 2010 - Quilters By the Sea Quilt Show - Quilters By The Sea Quilt Guild is hosted each year in a different NC city, usually held on a university campus. Symposium attracts about 450 quilters from about 7 states, for three days of classes, lectures and other special events. There will be a quilt show in conjunction with Symposium, with quilt entries from participants in Symposium. For more information, contact Karen Ellis at (910)352-8404.

June 26, 2010 - Annual NC 4th of July Festival Freedom Run - 8:00 AM, Southport Waterfront Park Bay Street, Southport. Admission/Fees: $20.00. 5K Freedom Run/Walk & 1 mile Freedom Run/Walk. Shirt Pickup & Registration will take place on Friday, June 26th from 6pm-8pm & Saturday, June 27th from 6:15am-7:55am on race day. For more information call (910)457-5578.
