December 3, 2010 - Island of Lights Christmas Parade - The Christmas parade on Carolina Beach at Lake Park Blvd (Hwy 421), Carolina Beach, NC furnishes exceptional night time electric displays, featuring floats, bands, queens, clowns, horses, Santa Claus and much more. The hour and a half parade brings festive fun and entertainment to all. Bring your chairs, blankets and snacks to enjoy the fun time. Public parking is free, parade starts at 7:30pm. December 4, 2010 - Island of Lights Holiday Flotilla - Carolina Beach Boat Basin, Intracoastal Waterway, Carolina Beach, NC. Fishing boats and pleasure crafts electrically decorated with thousands of lights present a spectacular display on the Intracoastal Waterway. The parade of boats will cruise from Snows Cut to Carolina Beach Boat Basin and back. A unique coastal tradition sure to please the hearts of all. Cash prizes are awarded. December 11, 2010 - Southport Holi-day - 10:00 am - 8:00 pm, Downtown Histroric Area Southport, NC. The day will be filled with numerous events celebrating the holiday season including the annual Christmas Historic Tour of Homes, Musical and Theatrical Type Entertainment, Arts & Craft Activities for Children, Arts $ Crafts sales and ending with a Christmas lighted Flotilla on the Cape Fear River. December 31, 2010 - Island of Lights New Year's Eve Countdown - The Island of Lights countdown features the lowering of a giant lighted beach ball in Kure Beach, NC. A street dance featuring live music precedes a spectacular fireworks display to welcome in the New Year. Refreshments are available at this entertainment event for all ages. Free. December 2010 - Wilmington Holiday Parade - Join local community groups, schools, bands and businesses as they celebrate this festive holiday event! The Wilmington Holiday Parade will be held on Sunday December 7, 2008 and is hosted by the City of Wilmington's Recreation Division. Entry forms will be available online beginning in September 2008!
