October 1 - 2, 2010 - NCBS Coastal BBQ Boot Camp - Three of NC's premier Pit Masters and 2 outstanding Chefs will teach "campers" to cook whole hogs eastern NC style along with chicken, pork ribs, tenderlions, salmon, etc. at the Halyburton Park Events Center, 4099 S. 17th Street Wilmington, NC. October 2 - 3, 2010 - Riverfest: A River Odyssey - Wilmington's Annual Riverfront Celebration features live music, arts, crafts, food booths, ship tours, a children's carnival and much more. For more information call (910)452-6862. Water Street, Downtown Wilmington, NC.

October 9, 2010 - Bark in the Park Canine Disc Championship - 11 am Wrightsville Beach Park, 321 Causeway Drive Wrightsville Beach, NC. Mighty mutts and playful purebreads will leap to the sky to catch flying discs at the 2008 Skyhoundz Hyperflight Canine Disc Championships. The event begins at 11 am. No experience necessary, admission free to spectators and competitors. Please come by the Wrightsville Beach Recreation Office to pre-register. October 9 - 10, 2010 - Pleasure Island Seafood, Blues & Jazz Festival - Held at the Fort Fisher Military Recreation Area 118 Riverfront Rd, Kure Beach, NC. Headlining the Festival this year is quintessential Texas blues rocker Delbert McClinton. Always held the second weekend in October, when the weather's warm, the sun is shining and the ocean breezes are fluttering, bring your lawn chairs and family to the Pleasure Island Seafood, Blues and Jazz Festival. Music lovers revel in two days of non-stop jazz and blues on two stages, performed by nationally and regionally recognized musicians. Seafood lovers enjoy scrumptious seafood from some of the area's best restaurants. There's plenty of shopping at booths hosted by crafters and local shop owners, a fine arts plaza and a wine tasting. For the kids, there is a special Kidz Zone with inflatable amusements, face painters and much more. Please, no coolers and no pets. October 16, 2010 - All Ford Car & Truck Show - Presented by Southeastern NC Mustang Club and Mustang Club of America at at Capital Ford, Lincoln, Mercury dealership on 5501 Market St in Wilmington, NC. Classes for all Mustangs and Ford powered cars & trucks. We will have our DJ again spin the discs this year playing your favorite music. Our members will provide food for our hospitality trailer offering food and drink for all participants. We will have many door prizes to give out as well as the popular 50/50 raffle. October 16 , 2010 - Wilmington Oktoberfest - Event has been relocated & refocused! Enjoy the Wilmington Oktoberfest at Racine Commons Shopping Center, 250 Racine Dr., Wilmington, NC. The Wilmington NC Oktoberfest starts at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, October 16, with the ceremonial tapping of the first keg. The band kicks in at 5:00 and plays continuously until 10:00 P.M. Friday. The fun kicks into high gear on Saturday, October 17, with the band starting at 12:00 noon sharp (you know how us Germans are about punctuality!) and continues until 10:00 that night. October 16 - 17, 2010 - Fall Coin Show - American Legion Post 10, 702 Pine Grove Dr., Wilmington, NC. The Lower Cape Fear Coin Club will hold it's annual Fall Coin Show. In addition to area wide dealers buying and selling coins the show will feature several educational exhibits and free coins for kids. For more information call (910)383-2255.

October 16 - 17, 2010 - North Carolina Oyster Festival - The North Carolina Oyster Festival is a Brunswick County tradition. This two day event includes lots of arts and crafts, food vendors, live music and of course the largest oyster roast around!

October 16, 2010 - Annual Salty Paws Festival - There will be kid's activities, pet contests, food, music, raffles, educational vendors, and arts & crafts vendors. Donations are appreciated. October 16, 2010 - Lighthouse International Beer Festival - Saturday, 12:00 PM, Hugh MacRae Park, College & Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC. 50+ International Breweries in one place! There's no better way to try all the best beers available. Admission includes a glass to sample all the beer you want. No worries, shuttle service will be available, so go ahead and enjoy yourself. October 30, 2010 - Brits and Battleship Car Show - Join the British Motor Club of the Cape Fear for their annual car show at the USS Battleship North Carolina. October 31, 2010 - Annual Cape Fear Wedding Show - Sunday, 12:00 PM at the Wilmington Convention Center, North Water Street at Hanover Street, Wilmington, NC. Approximately 80 vendors are expected to exhibit. The show will feature such unique touches as a special Bride & Groom lounge, bridal fashion and formal wear show, and many other extras.
