January 10, 2010 - Bride & Groom Expo - Sunday, 12 Noon til 3 p.m., Schwartz Center, Cape Fear Community College, Wilmington, NC. The oldest and biggest wedding event in coastal North Carolina. For more information call (910) 259-8323.

January 15 - 17, 2010 - Anniversary of the Capture of Fort Fisher - 145th Anniversary Commemoration of Capture of Fort Fisher at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, 1610 Fort Fisher Blvd. S, Kure Beach, NC. Program on the role of Federal and Confederate navies at the fort. Staff and volunteers dressed in Civil War period sailor uniforms give special talks and demonstrations. Program hours are 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Admission is free. Call the Fort Fisher State Historic Site at (910)458-5538 or email fisher@ncmail.net for more details. January 16 - 17, 2010 - Wilmington-Cape Fear HomeEXPO - The Wilmington-Cape Fear HomeEXPO and Remodeling Show is once again "Going Green". This year's HomeEXPO and Remodeling Show will be bigger and better than ever before. We will be focusing again on Green Products and Services; Green Seminars and of course, Green Sponsors! We will be doing even more advertising and promotions, a great contest to headline the event, more seminars and a new date to draw even larger crowds! Held at the CFCC Schwartz Center, 601 N. January 29 - 31, 2010 - NC Jr. Sorosis Antique Show & Sale - Over 35 dealers at the Coast Line Convention Center, 501 Nutt St., Wilmington, NC, from 3 states includes formal, primitives and country furniture, jewelry, Oriental rugs, clocks, silver, glassware, and china. Admission is $5 and benefits area charities supported by the North Carolina Junior Sorosis. Friday 10am-6pm, Saturday 10am-6pm and Sunday 12 noon-5pm. January 30 - 31, 2010 - Cape Fear Model Railroad Clubs Annual Show and Sale - Annual Model Railroad Show and Sale. Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 10am-4pm. Admission: $5.00 Adults, $3.00 Children 6 -12, Children 5 & Under Free. Held at American Legion Post 10, 702 Pine Grove Drive, Wilmington NC.
