ATTRACTIONS
NC Brunswick Islands
The
NC Brunswick Islands consist of five islands and six beaches: Caswell
Beach, Holden Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, Long Beach, Yaupon Beach
and Sunset Beach. With over 45 miles of beach, the Brunswick Islands
are widely known for their cleanliness and family-friendly atmosphere.
Watersports, such as wind surfing and jetskiing, fishing charters
for sportfishing or deep sea fishing and nature tours are available,
as are great family fun activities such as miniature golf, bumper
cars and go cart racetracks. Spend a day deep sea fishing or take
a dolphin adventure cruise!
Residents
of the Brunswick Islands take pride in their care and concern for
local wildlife, with friendly reminders to visitors to respect the
sea turtle nesting sites and fragile beach dunes. This is especially
important during the loggerhead turtle hatching season in June and
July. Nature preserves and nature centers dot the Brunswick Islands
offering nature trails for nature appreciation, photography, hiking
and bird watching. Orton Plantation Gardens, a former rice plantation
and ante-bellum estate, with acres of azaleas, camellias, live oaks
and magnolias offers visitors one of the most beautiful gardens
on the East Coast. If your idea of a relaxing vacation is to enjoy
the majesty of nature, the Brunswick Islands is the perfect vacation
destination for you!
